SAF suspends physical training after 2 trainees died: "An airforce regular serviceman died, one-and-a-half hours after he collapsed while he was undergoing jungle orientation training in Brunei on Wednesday.
20-year-old Officer Cadet (OCT) Lam Jia Hao Clifton, a pilot trainee with the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF), collapsed at about 5:45pm.
OCT Lam was given immediate first aid treatment and was attended to by a doctor and a senior medic. He was evacuated by helicopter at 6:32pm to Ripas Hospital and arrived 10 minutes later. The doctor and senior medic continued to resuscitate OCT Lam en route to the hospital. OCT Lam was pronounced dead at 7:20pm in Ripas Hospital.
MINDEF and the SAF extend their deepest condolences to the family of the late OCT Lam. MINDEF will assist the family in their time of grief and is investigating the incident."
