Tiong Bahru bird corner near Link Hotel reopens: The Link Hotel at Tiong Bahru has reopened one of Singapore's oldest bird corners. The hotel spent S$200,000 sprucing up the area and installing more than 320 hooks and number tags. Anyone can take their pets to the corner which dates back to the 1960s. The Tiong Bahru bird corner was closed several years ago when renovation work began on the hotel. To mark the reopening, a bird-singing competition was held on Sunday.
