Black Eyed Peas Concert In Central Park: MYFOXNY.COM - The much anticipated concert by the Black Eyed Peas in Central Park is set for Friday night.
As many as 60,000 people are expected to attend the free show on The Great Lawn.
Proceeds from the event will benefit The Robin Hood Foundation , an anti-poverty group in New York City.
Friday night's show (all tickets have been distributed) was originally scheduled to take place on June 9, but was postponed by rain. Thousands of people waited in the heat, rain and hail for several hours before the show was canceled due to safety concerns.
"It's going to be a good, good night," said David Saltzman, Robin Hood Foundation Executive Director during an interview with Good Day New York on Friday.
The Great Lawn -- a 55-acre pasture located inside Central Park at 79th to 85th Streets-- has a storied history with performances there by Elton John, Paul Simon, Diana Ross, Bon Jovi and Garth Brooks.
The six-time Grammy winning hip-hop/ pop music group Black Eyed Peas features will.i.am, apl.de.ap, Taboo and singer Fergie.
