Singaporeans fight on sidelines of karate event

Singaporeans fight on sidelines of karate event: Three Singaporeans came to blows at the World Karate Federation's (WKF) 7th World Junior and Cadet Championships in Malacca almost two weeks ago.

But the Oct 13 bust-up - which involved a Singapore national coach, his national athlete son, and a Singaporean coaching a foreign team - took place outside the competition arena.

Father-and-son David and Daryl Thong, and Uzbekistan coach Kelvin Koh gave different versions of what happened with each side accusing the other of starting the fight.

The incident occurred on the same day that Mr Koh had his coach's accreditation pass removed by the WKF.
